The Cattle Exchange sells livestock to buyers across South Africa and coordinates everything between a sale and the buyer receiving what they paid for. For the farmers who supply the animals and the providers who help fulfil the orders, here is how that works in practice.
Verification comes first
Nobody sells or provides a service until they have been verified. Suppliers provide their details and documents; service providers are checked against the certifications their work requires, above all a registered abattoir number and a Certificate of Acceptability for cutting. That verification is the foundation of the trust buyers place in us, and it is what ultimately moves your animals and fills your calendar.
You sell through The Cattle Exchange
Buyers buy from The Cattle Exchange, and we present and sell your animals on your behalf. That gives the buyer a single, dependable place to purchase, and it gives you a single, clean relationship with us, without the work of finding buyers, negotiating, or handling payment yourself.
We take care of presenting your animals
You do not manage listings yourself, and you do not need to. Once you have offered your animals, we take care of presenting each one properly and to a consistent standard, so that buyers can judge it fairly and buy with confidence. Consistency is what keeps buyers returning, and it is worth protecting.
Lawful, coordinated fulfilment
When a buyer adds slaughter or cutting for their own use, the order is routed through a registered abattoir and a licensed cutting facility, with traceability maintained from slaughter to delivery. Our coordinators assign each step to the right provider in the right sequence, so the work reaches you as clear, well-defined jobs.
How you are paid
The Cattle Exchange collects payment from the buyer and settles what is owed to each party after the order is complete, with every amount recorded and accounted for. Your banking details are held privately and never stored on the platform itself.
